Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

A : If you get the Traditional Thai massage, any loose comfortable or stretchy clothing works well. Sweats or Yoga clothes are perfect. You will have the option to wear the clothing we provide during your session as well.
If you get the Signature, Signature Deluxe massage or Thai Herbal Compress massage, you will need to wear comfortable Thai style pants we provide, you will need to undress on the top but your whole body will be covered with sheets and intimate parts of your body aren’t touched or massage.
Q: I am pregnant. Can I get a massage?
A: We do not offer prenatal massage. You should always consult your Dr. first if you are thinking of getting a massage while pregnant.
Q : Should I tell my practitioner about any medical conditions, medications, or allergies?
A : Absolutely! This is very important! Some products and services our therapists use or perform can cause irritation and leave you with an unpleasant experience.
Q : Where do I keep my belongings?
A : You can take your belongings with you into your massage room.
Q : What should I expect at my Thai massage session?
A : First time recipients of the massage react differently; some find the pressing techniques - particularly those done with the thumb - a little uncomfortable; others are shocked at the degree of stretching their stiff body can achieve. Almost all feel relaxed, refreshed and much more flexible afterwards, and those who have regular Thai massage come to enjoy the deep pressure techniques and spectacular manipulations.
Q : How does Thai massage compare to Western massages?
A : Traditional Thai massage is always performed on a comfortable floor mat to provide for maximum mobility that allows the practitioner to utilize their body weight. The guest is fully clothed and no oils are required; however, are sometimes incorporated on the shoulders and neck.
Western style massages require the guest to undress for oils to be applied to the body and the massage is most often performed on a table. Western massage will typically focus on a specific area of the body where the guest has a given concern. Thai massage always performs work on the entire body addressing the guest's overall wellbeing to help the body function at its highest levels.
Additionally, Thai massage uses point pressure to open energy lines or "sens" in the body as diagramed throughout Asian culture. The energy work is combined with stretching techniques to open the guest's body creating a relaxing and simultaneously invigorating experience. A Thai massage practitioner may utilize their hands, elbows, knees, or feet throughout the massage. Western massage mainly focuses on kneading of muscular tissue through compression and various hand movements. Thai massage has been practiced for well over 2500 years, kept in its traditional form and is becoming increasingly popular in the West. You can read more about Thai massage here.
